The Port of Duisburg is the largest inland port in the world. It is considered the hub of Central Europe. More than 20,000 ships and 25,000 trains are handled here every year. Around 250 companies and logistics service providers are based on an area of 1,550 ha and handle goods of all kinds by ship, truck and train. EWT Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH is part of the logistics system.

With its central location, the Port of Duisburg is an ideal starting point for goods of all kinds. Around 30 million consumers live within a radius of only 150 kilometres in the Ruhr area, the Lower Rhine and the adjoining Rhineland. Every week, 400 freight train connections depart from Duisburg across the Ruhr area to the ports of Europe and Asia.  Thanks to the multimodal transport chains covered here and the new transcontinental connection to China, the port is rightly one of the most important logistics hubs in and across Europe.
